Time Critical Decision Making
The primary purpose of Time Critical Decision Making is to help individuals and teams better understand how great teams solve problems in a crisis, and thus reduce human error. Our emphasis is on individual and team decision making. This is not a charm school for individuals and teams, this is a program that provides a common frame of reference for evaluating and further developing skills integral in future training and job performance.
The success of an individual and even crews or teams in handling abnormal or emergency events requires coordinated efforts and the knowledge and experience of experts. Businesses today operate in complex environments and are faced with situations characterized by rapidly unfolding events, multiple plausible outcomes, high information ambiguity, time pressure, and serious consequences for error. This is part of everyday life!
Communicating Information in a Timely and Effective Manner
In order to adapt to these situations we must coordinate actions so we can gather, process, integrate, and communicate information in a timely and effective manner. Individuals must recognize their situation. Teams have to coordinate with each other, distribute and orchestrate tasks with teammates, communicate key information, and make decisions collectively. Missing any of these steps could result in misinformation or lack of integral information and lead the team to fail, or even to disaster. This causes individuals, teams and corporations to lose money, time, or even worse- cause injury or loss of life.
As a former USMC trainer, Matthew’s mindset is to train you until you can do it… starting immediately. As a true instructor who wants to see his audience succeed, Matthew gives comprehensive frameworks and resources that assist in the understanding of each concept he talks about — you see the real-world examples and will become part of an “Expert Environment” that will allow you to learn from the experiences of others.
