Life comes with many twist and turns. We go through life making some great decision and unfortunately some extremely bad decisions. I am reminded of when I first entered into flight school and it was time for my first flight. As I walked to the T-34C Mentor I was scared to death! Flying an airplane had always been my dream, but to this point I had never flown. I can remember when my instructor said, “OK, 1stLt. Currin, you have the controls,” my heart was beating at a rapid pace. That was the fall of 1995. This past weekend I flying my helicopter in and out of the Darlington Speedway at night like it was just another day. The difference is 3500 hours of flight experience.
Sharing our experience is simply a method of sharing knowledge and providing a method of knowledge transfer to others. Sharing our experiences and knowledge is one way that allows others to learn from different situations. I sometimes learned the hard way in marriage, parenting, coaching and being a Christian.
I can specifically remembering when my wife told me we were going to have our first child. I dove into books so deep that I think I could have delivered our son single handedly. I also remember the books not answering the simple questions. For these answers I turned to my parents and my friends who were the EXPERTS- they were already parents.
Convene brings us together to share our experiences in specific communities. It allows you -the expert- to share your experiences to help other like-minded individuals who have the same interest as you. It will also allow you to learn from others!
